ARTIST STATEMENT
My work investigates emotional states through fragmented figures and shifting environments. Using layered paint, drips, and visible revisions, I allow images to emerge intuitively rather than resolve into fixed narratives. Figures appear suspended—seated, reclining, or paused—caught between interior reflection and external forces. Color functions as mood rather than description: saturated yellows, blues, and reds hold tension against muted passages. Repetition of the human form becomes a way to explore presence, absence, and the body as a site of feeling rather than identity. These paintings invite the viewer to linger in ambiguity, to navigate a space where emotional truth outweighs literal description, and where stillness carries its own quiet intensity.
